My New Journal

This week we got journals from our funny teacher Mrs Drummond.
After every lunch we write about what we are grateful for in our journals. And they all have different pictures at the front.
If we want we write a picture with it. It is for letting all our bad thoughts out and good thoughts in.
This was my book i got i think its pretty cool especially if i get a dog! : )

Speech Finals

Yesterday the whole school did the SPEECH FINALS! It took a while but it was interesting to watch the speeches and I love all the topics they wrote about like monkeys, How the English language is stupid and even how a toilet can save your life. 
for 1st place year 6 was Mia Growdon
1st place for year 5 was Miranda Flexman. 1st place for year 4 was George Hamrahan.

Assembly

Last week we did assembly. It was very fun and cool. We learnt about stereotypes and how not to judge people and not to make assumptions on people that are different cultures or different genders. We did a play about stereotypes and how not to judge people about their gender of culture.
We also did a song  (a song about me).

Sun poem

The sun is a chilli
filling the sky with its heat.

Marae trip

On Wednesday we went to a marae. It was very fun and exciting. All the year five and sixes Boys and some year fours had to do the haka before we left. We also did a song and did some Maori counting up to Seven and making some beats.And had some delicious milos and food and lots of fruit. After that we played outside then came back in.

classroom pairs

A few days ago Room 5 and Room 3 did a R.E lesson together. We made a paper Mary statue and did a poster with one of marys sayings on it and decorate it. After that we left some posters in room 3 and brang some to room 5 to hang up!
We made them because It was saint Mary mickillops feast day!

pacific ocean poster!

A while ago Room 5 did a poster about different Oceans such as the Indian ocean . I chose the Indian ocean because it has lots of amazing sea creatures and has lots of beautiful reefs.  We also put different facts on the poster like name five animals that live around there. 

Pumanuwa

On Mondays at school we do Pūmanuwa which means we split up into different classrooms and do different activities like Kitchen Science, Technology, Yoga and Cartooning. I chose Cartooning.
I chose cartooning because I like drawing especially when I get to draw anything I want! Pumanūwa is very fun and I can't wait for next year. : )

Ice Experiment

Today we did an experiment it was on ice. Where we had to put 3 ice spheres in a bowl  and our teacher would give us salt and we have to rub it onto the ice and soon the salt froze into the ice. Also she put red and green diy on the ice and the diy ran into the air pockets the the water had when it froze as we recorded what we noticed and questions  and after. We threw the ice in the air and saw if the ice brook when it landed if it would break.

eggs

Last week we did an egg experiment  to see if we could look after an egg.
If we look after it till Friday then that means we could look after a dog or baby.
 We had to take it everywhere we go including bed. At the end of the week I wanted to make mine an omlit. : )

Taniwha

A few days ago we did art the picture we had to do was a picture of Peter Gossage drawing. Or a drawing of choice with Peter Gossage pattern. I did a taniwha with a Peter Gossage pattern i put the sea green and blue because Peter Gossage doesn't blend stuff in like the ocean.

Book week

Today we did Book week where we had to dress up in a book character! Also we did a big hunt with questions and you have to answer them to win. Or get to the finish to win but he important thing is to have fun and have great team work! i dressed up as Sherlock holms. Heres me !

Cross Country

A while ago we did cross country. I am a year 5 so that means the track for me is  long and something like this. Around the long road in front of the church to the office gate through the office gate round the turf and behind rooms 8,7,6 and 5 in front off the library. In front of rooms 1 and 2 behind the hall in front of the church behind the netball court to up top up the hill in front of Father Bernard's house and start again twice. After that me Justin,victor and Leo cheered on the rest of the class and took this picture with the yr 5 girls.

Science

A few days ago we did science with ice and boiling water and it was a surprise what happened. We put a plate on the top of the  jar with the boiling water in it. And we put the ice on top of that. And the boiling water was trying to escape but It turned cold!  

Country Study

A while ago we did  a study on a country. I did mexico because I think they have a cool culture and one of my favorite festivals there. The day of the dead i like that event because it has cool crazy skeletons and do dances. But not just because they have crazy cool skeletons its because its for praying to those who have passed away in their families. And i thought studying on that would be a cool idea because theirs lots of crazy cool things and events.

math poster

A few days ago the class did a poster for maths explaining how to solve big maths equations in an easy way.
I did an easy way to do division and even drew a math  monster and some other decorations.

assembly

Last week we did an assembly about Anzac Day! We did a dance and a play. My favourite one was the play because i was the last soldier alive and it was hard to keep my face serious. The dance was pretty fun as well but again, it was hard to keep my face serious.

On Wednesday the 8th of May 2019 room 5 made tetrahedron for R.E and it was pretty fun. We had to write messages from the holy spirit- faith,love or hope.After that we we decorated it and glued and folded and then we had a triangle but now we are going to put string on it.

Shine! Week

Last week we did a week called Shine Week. We had to dress in orange on Friday and we even got a whole school photo on the field. Miss Down went to the top of the office and took a picture of the whole school! And we will find the picture on the 2019 year book!

Ash Wednesday

on Wednesday we had to go to mass for a special event.... Ash Wednesday! On Tuesday we went to the turf for the burning of the palms and after that our priest (Monsignor Bernard) mixed up the ashes and it turned into ash for a cross on our heads.

This picture was not on ash Wednesday but it was the only photo that it had of all of us!   

Shrove Tuesday

on Tuesday the 5th of march  or today we went to room 1 to make pancakes! It took a while but we still made them it was very fun.
first we had to lightly pat the sieve so there weren't any bumps in the sieve.  Then Miss Cultrera put milk in it and the room 1 children had to stur the sieve and i got to mix it as well! then we all had to wait and room 1 had to draw a picture of what they did on Shrove Tuesday while room 5 had to do their blog!

the escape from kraznir

This week we finished the second chapter of the escape from krasnir!












 I really enjoyed it and we have lots more chapters to do.
We have to do 5 chapters and lots and lots of writing too.
We finished chapter 1 2 weeks ago and still have 3 more chapters to do.
The second one is a decision to fight a giant spider,a orc or a wargs
they all travel in four groups except orcs they travel in three groups.
i picked to fight orcs except to many of them attacked one of the characters 
got his head chopped in half. But hes a marshmallow man so there's no blood 
and he even found a healing potion!

swimming sports

On Wednesday all the year 3,4,5 and 6 went to the lane pools where we did lots of competitions and finals. We all probably had a great time. I know I did. We all had to go into non-competition or competition so I entered non-competition and my favourite one was water walk it was very fun.

There were lots of different races like:

dolphin dive,breaststroke and a lot more. We had to take three buses! That was pretty crazy just for a few people and after we finished I was so tired and I can't wait till next time.

in week 3 2019 we made a puzzle piece each we all had to draw a image that means something to you of draw something thats your favourite thing.we each took  a piece of paper with the outline of a puzzle piece and drew our name in the middle or however you want it and draw images around it.....

when we finished our teacher stuck it together and

put it on the window and we
got a giant puzzle!!

Sun Smart

in room 5 we have been learning to be sun smart we made posters to show what would happen if you were sun smart. I did it with 4 people. Here's mine...

All About Me

Hello! My name is Xavier. I am going to tell you about myself. 
First: my favourite subjects are writing,reading and art my favourite games to play at home are hide and seek playing on my ps4. Like apex legends , minecraft and plants vs zombies and stuff like that. So now hopefully you know me a little bit better about what i like and what i do in my spare time!  

First Week of School

MY 2ND WEEK AT SCHOOL

On my second week of school we did started our puzzle piece

and also made a letter about us to the teacher.

and a few days later we got our 

accounts for prodigy,epic and freckle

and a few days later we finished our puzzle piece
and it looked so cool especially because it was all connected
and all the colours and pictures looked really cool.
Some other things we did were see what animal we were for
Chinese new year and we went.....SWIMMING!
it was really fun because who do'sent like splashing in the 
water and diving underwater? This week was amazing and can't wait for more fun.
